If you were about to learn an instrument at school, would you play the flute or alto sax?

The flute. I think it's absolutely beautiful and could listen to it all day :)

I would love to be able to play the Sax. So I could play along with the awesome Sax in Baker Street :D

alto sax. it has a greater range of notes. i could play jazz like candy dulfer. plus the fingering is similar to other reed instruments.

My brother in law is a music major and played the sax, ppl who play the sax seem to get more recognition then flute players. I personally love flutes and wish I would have learned to play one.

I played the flute in HS and didn't enjoy it so I think I'll give the alto sax a try.... :)

I played clarinette and always wanted to try sax, I'd go for that.

Flute, it sounds prettier and is easier to maintain (no reeds, fewer parts).
