  • I think that's entirely possible. That's why I am one of the crusaders for correct spelling and grammar, since the lack of these can make for misinterpretations galore. But some questions are just biased and/or bigoted, no matter how correctly they are worded. I don't normally downrate such prejudice, but I also don't let it pass by uncommented. I don't consider a difference of opinion a "negative response" - isn't a lively discourse part of the reason for AB's existence? But when one tries to argue prejudice against science and logic, it's rather pointless.
  • Yes. Honk if you're a bigot!
  • Yes, I think it happens all of the time. Simply stating an opposing opinion or disagreeing with someone is called an "attack." In another thread today, an 18 smart-arse jumped to the aid of a bigot, then proceeded to "attack" the rest of us, and even chastised me for not capitalizing at the begining of a sentence. Thinks he's a real hot-shot, apparently. I just love how disrespedtful some young people are these days.
  • Yes. Because of this kind of environment, we tend to forget that there's a real person, flesh and blood, behind the avatar that we're dealing with.
  • Yes, I've been misinterrupted all night.
  • Yes, you cant tell their tone of voice. I try to say I am joking, unless I know the person, that I am leaving the comment for, they know what I am saying.
  • Yes sometimes I ask a question just goofing around and people take it seriously and I get all these hang dog answers. Or I answer something that was supposed to be a joke and I take it seriously. So its like a maze you take your best guess and hope it works !!! :)
  • Oh sure, it happens to the best of us, I've done it, $h%t happens. :)
  • Yes, I am amazed at some of the bad names I have been called by simply offering a different point of view.
