  • staying there and continuing the Bush policies. Oh and attacking Iran, that would be totally insane. Our economy is bad enough, we are less secure, we need to focus on domestic issues. Cuba now has a lower infant mortality rate than we do, that's just wrong.
  • Well, they could decide to pull out now, hence LOSE yet another war (the war with the rebels, not the war with the country). The US is already loosing ALOT of respect around the world and if they want to keep their position as the worlds strongest super power then they can not pull out of Iraq YET. They could decide to go head strong into the middle east and attack Iran or somewhere else. This could have two major consequences: 1. The entire Muslim world joins forces and strikes back at the US with a huge terror campaign that this world has never seen the likes off before. 2. China and/or Russia get involved. I do not want to even think about that! They could decide to just stay in Iraq and use the tactics they are using atm, which obviously are not working. The best thing they can do is throw a full force attack against the Taliban, the Taliban could not handle that. Defeat them and end the war in Afghanistan. Then concentrate on Iraq. What needs to be done there is a full support of the local police force and army. They need to have the power and the ability to eliminate terrorist camps. They should concentrate their forces on training the Iraqi's to deal with the "insurgents" and start a slow planned withdrawl. But then this is just my opinion and I do not claim to be an expert on war strategy.
  • Every decision as it relates to war and foreign policy is controversial. There will always be someone who will not like the decision. Right now I feel like we need to bring it all back home and fix ourselves before trying to fix the world. It's hypocritical to go out and try to make another country function like we do, while we are crumbling ourselves economically. Bring it all back home, plug up the leaks that are oozing money and resources out of the country and let the economy and country heal.
  • They could claim that we lost when we've won. That would be the worst thing they could do. Just like Harry REid did.
  • It would be a controversial decision if Obama DIDN'T keep his word and pull the troops out of both countries starting immediately after assuming office. There has been a strong public outcry to get the hell out of those countries for years. It has crippled the economy and never accomplished anything,as war usually does.Part of Obama's popularity is that he is willing to end the conflict and use diplomacy with other nations for a change.
  • Of course it could be worse. Obama could pull our troops out of Iraq, thereby proving that the United States is a nation controlled by cowards and setting the stage for something far, far larger than 9/11 (just as Bill Clinton set the stage for 9/11 by pulling out of Somalia). Or he could go to the other extreme and order a nuclear strike against Iran. I can confidently say that I do not believe McCain will do either of these things.
  • sorry, but it's not an "alleged" foul up by bush and his administration. it's a cluster of the highest caliber, either that or a deception of the highest caliber. either way it doesn't show him, his administration or his supporters in a very good light.
