It is possible to have a disagreement with someone online, and resolve it through argument. Both people have to be willing to stick to the issues, and not get personal or insulting. If you are having a mutual insult exchange, that is not an argument, it's just a flaming session.

If it is then most of us here are wasting our time. Most debate here is healthy and educational, but I have seen it descend into petty name callling, my da is bigger than your da type of stuff. Sadly some people do not have the maturity to keep the discussions to a certain level.

I believe it is. *siiiigh* I just had some f***ing idiot leave a comment that I want to just lay into them for! In fact, if I could do some E-decapitation I would, but what am I going to do, type an angry paragraph in caps while they laugh at me. Eh! I mean I just want to strangle this individual...lets yell...AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (ah, that's better) lol.

If you expect anything constructive to come out of it, yes, having an argument with almost anyone on the Internet is definitely futile. Sometimes, however, I do it just for the phun of it! : D
