When I wash clothes I have this awful sulphur smell, what could it be. Why do I only smell it when I wash. This is a brand new home.

I am guessing you have well water. The sulfur smell is because of the sulfur in the water. I don't know what the solution is but you might want to speak to someone else in the neighborhood and see if they have the same problem.

there are filters that you can add to your plumbing...look into it.

If you have well water and you only get the smell from your washer, I'm guessing you have some sort of filtration system set up for the rest of the house. I can't fathom WHY the builders wouldn't have routed the filtered water to the washing machine as well... probably trying to save themselves a few bucks.

Could also be that the last person who used it had recently visited Rotorua and subsequently used the machine to wash their clothing in. That stuff is potent - itll stain other clothes and the machine!
