Why do so many people assume that only men like pornography?

Because the vast majority of the consumers of pornography are men.

I do not make that assumption. However, it has been empirically proven, that MOST men are more visually stimulated when it comes to sex, and MOST women are stimulated more by imagination. This makes the "traditional" pornography (magazines, videos) more suited to men's stimulation needs than women's. There are certainly exceptions to this rule. Some women are equally as stimulated by visual pornography as men are. I guess this is why the so-called "women's adult videos" tend to feature story lines, while "men's adult videos" tend to have beautiful women getting it on with average looking guys...I think they figure we average guys can relate to those visuals :-)

most people assume this because the women that looks at porn are prudes, and don't speak up about their prefictly natural habbit. Guys are just more open to making it know that they look at porn, because they see that other guys admit it, so they know they won't be alone. I think it's odd that the guys tend to get into porn quite a few years before women, and women mature 2 years faster that guys. Another way this can be assumed is because almost all porn stars are women (most men are attracted to women- if women looked at porn as much as guy then there would be the some number of actors.
