  • I believe that would be an opinion based question being many people have different types of tastes, and taste depends on the individual. To me they kind do taste like a lobster, but then also to me lobster tastes like a sponge. So I say that depends on the taste buds of the individual.
  • I find that crayfish have a stronger odor than lobster. I think lobster is sweeter and has a very mild taste compared to crayfish. You can try crayfish very cheaply. Very inexpensive for a couple of them. They just don't sell them all the time. You can do your own taste test.
  • Definitely not. I love lobster, but hate crayfish.
  • I love crayfish, one of the factor is that it resembles lobster and have a strong seafood taste, if that's for you refer to as "odor".
  • Lobster is sweeter and a bit milder than crayfish, though it does depend on where your lobster comes from. Maine lobster is the sweetest which may be why I don't like it as much. Crayfish have a stronger taste, Sort of like if lobster had 'dark meat' like chicken or turkey. Think of lobster as being white meat and crayfish as the dark.

  • It depends. I currently live in Maine, but I grew up in California. When I was younger, my parents used to take me fishing to Lake Casitas in California... and the only thing we ever came home with were crayfish. Their flavor was nearly indistinguishable from lobster here in Maine which I love to eat so much. I have also had crayfish from the bayous of the south and their flavor is quite different from lobster. I would venture a guess that it depends on species and their preferred habitat.
