  • Paralegals are not licensed in most of America, so the answer is simply dependent on if you can find someone to hire you (which is likely). As for becoming a lawyer, that will depend on the state. Some states take the approach that there is no action that will permanently prohibit you from eventually being admitted to the bar. Some states have strict rules about what convictions will permanently prohibit you. The most general answer I could give you is that as long as your conviction was not for a crime of moral turpitude, you could be admitted to at least a handful of bars in America.
