Interesting, I've never thought of religion as a prison. I do think the secret is the personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and I also think too many religions, mine included, have too many "rules", and if they would focus more on having a personal relationship with Christ than following a strict set of rules, they might have more followers.

In fact Christianity is not a religion but it is all about the relationship between God and his children. I mean a personal and mutual one. Jesus freed us from religions and their law. Unfortunately christian turned it into many new religions.

To begin with, it was a VERY small cult of Jews who worshipped a dead carpenter. It would never have got off he ground at all if Paul hadn't opened it to Gentiles, against the express orders of Jesus, and later of his brother.

You are right....the way you worded your question is a little confusing...I almost didn't get it. Religion is a prison...you have laws and someone telling you what you can do and can't do. Yet they are most probably doing what they are telling you what not to do.....but when you have that relationship with JESUS that GOD desires us to have it is SWEET. Pure joy???? It's wonderful and peaceful at times....but we do go thru somethings....it is not all pure joy. As we become more and more CHRIST-like we go thru some hard times.....as those things we hang on to are revealed like bitterness, jealousy, hatred...etc...and dealt with.

sorta, i love to come together to listen and learn and sing praises, but not many it seems are there for my reasons...i have come to realize that no matter which way i turned my head i ended up talking to a bigot or a gossip.....my relationship is joy and gives me serenity and sustanence I need....Jesus isn't forced, HE is willing only and i can do that better, alone...:)justme
