Christians are to love, and even though it is not accepted or even acknowledged, it is our duty to love and to heighten the circle of hate, for that circle turns into a spiral of sociological filth.

Because it isn't worth it (nor healthy for your mind) to spread negative energy by treating people who are not so pleasant any less than you would some other people. You do not want unkind people to re-shape you into less than who you are just because they have a problem with themselves.

To be completely honest when people don't treat me the way I wanted to be treated I do occasionally expend some effort to find out why. I have learned some things about my self that way. You need to be open minded that you don't know yourself and the world as well as you think you do. I think you should care because you don't want to contribute to the mess in world. You should care because you should want to spend your time and energy on the important things you want to accomplish in your future rather than dealing with negative and unproductive situations. I think the better question is what do you have to do so that people can't get under your skin. Once you have achieved this then it won't be so hard to treat others with respect. Confidence in yourself and a purpose in your life will negate the importance of the negative actions of others.

Because it drives them nuts. They also realize sooner or later that they look like jerks for picking on a good person.

Tsamaya!!! I am so glad to see you, dear one! How have you been? I know you already know the answer to this, but maybe someone else doesn't. It is important to do the right thing no matter what. If you don't, you will remember the incident and it will affect the way you see yourself. When you're ugly to someone, it sends ripples out into the community. You can flip someone off who turns their car in front of you. They go home and yell at their spouse, who doesn't understand what they did that was so wrong they got yelled at, so they yell at the kids. The kids go to bed upset and feel their parents don't really love them as much as they say they do. The kids go to school the next day and they are bothered, so they don't focus like they ought to. This frustrates the teacher, who yells at the rest of the kids in class. Those kids go home upset, which upsets the parents. Those parents have to get up and go to work upset. They don't work as well when they're upset, which bothers the boss, who accidently cuts in front of you in the freeway on his way home from work, where you then flip him off. You see? It's a bad ripple. You get what you give out. Why not give out good stuff?
