I don't know but I think all this swearing stuff is unnecessary. People should just answer the question or make their statement. Liars don't suddenly become honest when they're required to swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

It is purjury, as if you had lied in open court. An affadavit is like testimony before a court and lying in such a statement is like lying in court and you could find yourself facing purjury or contempt charges.
