Sometimes people let there Subconcious run amuck and they don't keep it in check and then realize what happend when they get a screaming voicemail from there best friend's friend.

Definitely - I have known and currently know several people who are just so naturally manipulative that they do it without realizing, unconsciously. It's become a core part of their behaviour and way of interacting with others, and since manipulation usually leads to rewarding outcomes for the person, it is being continuously positively reinforced in the brain.

I've been manipulated accidentally by pretty much everyone who was capable of doing it, so yeah, it happens.
