For a few minutes then it just becomes annoying. :)

Not in real life, when I'm face to face with someone, the conversation has to be big or I start yawning and looking for the hors d'oeuvre table. It's different on forum style things online however, because of the lag time between responses it's better to keep things short and sweet so you don't have to feel screwed inside when you don't get an instant response.
