I think he earnestly thinks he is preaching the word of God (whatever that truly is) and he isn't covering the concept with a veneer of slime.

Yes, Joel Osteen should STOP calling himself a pastor and start marketing his services as a motivational speaker. A true pastor preaches the whole counsel of God (the entirety of the Bible, heaven and hell etc...). Joel Osteen has been quoted as saying that 'sin is not on the menu...' and that there are no crosses in his church because he wants to 'take the barriers down that have kept people from coming.' Joel's father, who was a Godly man and preached the Gospel is rolling over in his grave.

I have never heard Osteen use the words sin or repent. He preaches lies. He teaches that if you have the right attitude you will always be healthy and wealthy. He says that if you do the right things, only good things will happen to you. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

He has turned from sound doctrine for the love of money. He denies what the Bible says because he doesn't want to offend anyone.

Well, compared to some preachers, he's easy on the eyes and ears. Problem is, that's not what he was put here for. He MUST be forthright in his passion for God and should tell those who live a wayward life (Like Moi and I admit it) that to play both sides of the game is not acceptable. One cannot serve 2 masters and I hate to say this, but I think he's sliding through with that.

Joel uses his passive motivational skills to persuade people to give, give, give, and give some more. Which is quite a switch from the begathon or give to our ministry or you'll go to hell approach. Unfortunately, as always, it all boils down to money The Gospel of salvation rather than the gospel of money needs to be preached. Preach what the people "need" to hear not what they "want" to hear.
