Take it to a mechanic and have them check the engine. I don't see how manufacturers could make it any simpler...

With the car off turn the headlights on and then disconnect the battery with the headlights still on. This will reset the ckeck engine light.

don't unhook your batterty with the head lights on, it could blow up in your face. the batterty gives of a gass when charging. just unhook your batterty with every thing off. if light comes on then you have a enginge code to deal with
