  • A fern?
  • A fake plant and you will not need water
  • A Cactus
  • Fly Algaric?
  • Peace Lillys wood be a good choice.
  • Dracena Marginada or Difinbacia (probably bad spelling on both). The both are shade tolerent, desease resistant tropicals. You probably should check their water once a week (break down and buy a water meter-don't just stick your finger in the dirt), feed a couple of times a year, occasionally put on some fresh soil, and occasionally dust the leaves (they actually make a leaf cleaner/polish). The whole process won't take 10 minutes a week and you'll have beautiful plant that will live a long time. I've got some I've had for more than 20 years. I would suggest that you consider buying them at a real plant store, not a grocery or hardware store. It may cost a little more but the advice will be worth it plus it will be properly potted (unless you want to get into potting-which is almost another subject)
  • Philodendron or snake plant. NOT A CACTUS as someone else suggested. They have to have LOTS of sunshine.
  • Phelodendrons need very little light, that's why I have them in my cave, oh, I mean house.
