  • The batter must run the bases in order for the run to score. If he runs the bases and misses a base, he is assumed to have touched the base unless/until the defense properly appeals the missed base. So if the batter circles the bases but fails to touch one (or more) of the bases or even home plate, the run counts until the defense makes the appeal. 4.09 HOW A TEAM SCORES.
