Did you ever watch the Cosby show? Several of the characters were white -- some of "Cliff's" patients and business associates, some of "Claire's" business associates, some of their friends, and several of the children's friends. No racism there -- it was a great show!

You heard wrong. The Cosby show was one of the earliest pioneers for racial equality. The actors, and the entire crew were mixed races and worked together well.

You might try watching it. It was one of the best shows on TV and was not racist. It was very fair and showed blacks as successful, intelligent, loving people. This was, unfortunately, not the case up to that point in TV history. It opened the door to more fairness in programing.

Why do people make statements like this about great television shows? (I'm not blaming you, but the person who TOLD you this... And if it came in an email, just consider that it's mostly crap.) Bill Cosby's show was one of the LEAST racist shows on the air. While it showed a successful black family (a rarity on TV at the time), and MOST of the show revolved around the family (you know... Like most of the other shows about families on TV), there were plenty of "side characters", many of them white. He hired all races to produce the show.

Also let's not forget that the show was PRIMARILY about a succesfull black family! Your not expecting to see a large number of white characters. If they did a show about NHL players, I'm expecting it to be mostly white, cause NHL is mostly white. Just like if you do a show about NBA players it's gonna be mostly black. So in that context, it definatly is not racist.
