i'm trying to find out myself. the author {dougie maclean?} describes his personal growth journey, leaving home, losing friends who he didnt need, total freedom. but it sounds like he went to far for too long and the freedom turned into sameness.. lacking real connection. he needs to feel grounded to have a sense of who he is and he thinks and sings of home.
a universal human experience i think, he went out tofind himself and then needed to take himself home.. or he left his comfort zone to grow and went a little too far and needs to come back down to earth.. maybe??
