Is it true that if your eyes are open when you sneeze that the force will pop your eyes out of their sockets?

I have lived 62 years and have sneezed at least 13 times in a row. my eyes are still intact. i have sneezed every which way you can imagine. and no, i have not had to have my eyes repositioned in my head. Eyes open, eyes shut, makes no difference.

actually yohoho05,The reason why this happens iz b/c(You might not believe me but it's still true)back in the amphibian age sneezing would attract miniature predators equipped with venom projectiles(much like spitting cobras today)the reason the eyes close is b/c sneezing very suprisingly mainly took place during mating which meant the animal would be defenceless,back then the reflex was longer usually keeping the eyes closed during the entire mating ritual,keeping the animal safe.In conclusion it's left over from them and just hasn't worked itself out yet. alt.a theoretical reason is that sneezing sturs up dust,your eyes stay closed to keep that from getting in your eyes.^^

No, leaving your eyes open while sneezing won't make them pop out. It's a reflex that when you sneeze, you close them, but even if you somehow manage to get them open, nothing will happen. i would think youd have to be born without eye lids to Not blink with you eyes closed, then again your eyes would fall out no matter what you did then
