No, give the two a paper test and he just might kick some ass....
-
if he's from the south or single. no just because a person speaks differently doesn't mean they're less intelligent in fact they may be even smarter that you
-
It's just a regional way of speaking and has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. One of the smartest women I've ever known told me her dog "got snake bit."
-
Depends how he reacts to nascar =)
-
Geez, I'm from Texas, I say it all the time. I'm not too dumb. A lot of people from Texas say that.
-
Not at all is he less intelligent that me. The english language is getting butchered in todays world of text messaging. The world is in a hurry so shortening of words is acceptable.
-
I wouldn't judge them as less intelligent that I am, in fact I may be the first one to say y'all..LOL :)
-
This question struck me as odd... I guess it would have meant more to me if you replaced "y'all" with "yous guyz" (yeah yeah I've lived in the south the majority of my life haha)
-
I am from the south, say yall all the time and have an IQ of 130. No- weunns aint all so dumb.
-
I would be more upset if he had sad "you all". I'm in the hicks of NC everybody says "ya'll"... whether they be smart or not so smart.
-
It has nothing to do with intelligence: it's regional.
-
No. I would not judge that person to be less intelligent, especially being from the south. Every region has its own dialect and its own accepted dialect of the English language. Most languages have a subject pronoun that indicates a plural 'you', which we do not have in English.
-
I'm pretty dern intelligent... I say ya'll all the time.
-
I use it sometimes... and I ain't no dumb hick! (Check out my answers for proof!)
-
No big thing... for some bizarre reason, I also work "y'all" into my regular speech once in a while. I have no idea why, but it sounds pretty natural coming out of my mouth. ??? Oh, and I'm wicked intelligent. :)
-
Of course not. And if I were to ever become that type to judge others like that, I would hope someone would come along and smack me the **** out of it!
-
I've never judged someone's intelligence just because they said y'all. I'm not from the south but I lived for many years in a very agricultural county in California and many of the big time ranchers to the very smart university students often said y'all.
-
No not at all...I spend quite a bit of time in Texas on business and it is a common phrase
-
No. Makes me wonder if he/she's from Texas though.
-
Haha, nah. I'm from Oklahoma so I kinda get used to it. (:
-
nah...
-
No just charmed by southern drawl
-
Yes, ashamed to say I think Hillbilly & yes asume low intelligence & possibly maried to a family member. SORRY
-
I think it's kinda cool !!
-
No. I love Southern accents and contractions. "y'all" is no worse than any other contration...such as "don't" or "isn't"...it's simply a regional contraction. I find people who misuse words or use non-existent words (such as "conversate") less intelligent....but people who use contractions are still using standard English.
-
No, not at all.
-
"Less intelligent?" WTF, over? Them's fightin' words, boy! I use the word "y'all" all the time, and I have two undergraduate degrees and a Masters, and I challenge anyone to call me "less intelligent!" Sheesh!
-
No, I am smart enough to know that that person is from the south and yall is another way of saying you all or all of you. As for the intelligence, you are the one that lacks not the user of the word, so do not be so quick to put the other person down. You are the one that lacks the knowledge of speech. Putting others down is not right. Do not think people dumb as everybody is smarter that everybody else at something. Please do not be mad at my answer as I am just trying to get you to see it is not right to put others down. Have a nice day.
-
I would ask if they were realted to me.
-
