Help answer this question below.

As a teenager I had Pneumonia twice in two years. I now have a small lung capacity ,that of a 75year old [I'm 34].I am a triathlete and run marathons is there any way of getting that lung function back or is it dead tissue?

    You need to look into pulmonary rehab. They teach you to breathe properly and also exercise. It is a major ordeal but the payoffs at the end are well worth it.

    Pulmonary rehab, but if you're a triathelete, then what's the problem? Obviously, your coaches and doctors have told you all they could. The alveoli will never return to anything near normal. They're gone. Have you learned circular breathing yet?
