No, I don't. In order for that to happen: 1. Someone with malicious intent will have to write an algorithm that passes the Turing test. 2. Someone will have to embed this algorithm in many, many powerful robots. 3. The robots will have to defeat several armies. I don't see step one happening anytime soon. Step two would cost a fortune, and step three is pretty unlikely, considering how powerful our army is. I suppose they could use their roboty skills to cripple our communications networks and other technology -- but that'd be quite unlikely, too.

Not before God takes all the countries out who attack Israel in the last days and fulfill the prophecy. No. No way. If we are here by 2050, we may see the first inklings of sentient computers. However, I highly doubt that this will ever fully occur being that Iran says they want to wipe Israel off the map, Syria has their country lined with soldiers, and Palestinian Abbas is going to mark 3 million Palestinians into Israel on May 14, 2008. And you're worried about computers taking over the world? Nah. Never will happen before the end of time. Jesus will show up first.

Haven't they already?
