by going home for a visit.
Other than going home? Explore more of where you are at. Take your mind off of it every now and then.
By going home and staying for some days ...that's what I did :-) !
I watch TV. I use to live in California where a lot of where I lived have been filmed.
Do something that reminds you or makes you feel of home.
I was awfully homesick when I first moved away to go to University and I knew others that were too. The best thing I did was admit it to the people around me. Myself and a few others would get together when we felt low and do something together like watch Dirty Dancing or Ghost (all Patrick Swayze orientated! hehe) with a bottle of wine.
The internet is a good way to keep in touch with people to keep the homesickness at bay, but I prefered to send out little postcards or letters to people. It often prompted them to write back which gave me something to look forward to when I was away from home.
If possible, arrange for a friend or relative to come up one weekend in a few weeks time. It gives you something to look forward to and breaks the pattern of negative thinking when you feel like packing up and going home. In between, when you feel homesick, try to distract yourself by going for a short walk or by putting on some relaxing music.
Hope this helps!
