I recently recieved a nip after 19 days. I was doing 33mph in a 30mph zone, but the nip says i was doing 38mph. The camera was a mobile speed camera but there were no warning signs around to say that it was there. there was also no speed signs on the road

First of all those machines as well as all the untis used by police can be up to 5 miles an hour off. You can fight the ticket but as you stated you were doing 33 in a 30 so you were still speeding. In any case they will sometimes drop the ticket but make you pay court costs. It is cheaper than the ticket and the ticket does not go on your record. You could also take defensive driving and get the ticket taken off your record. Finally you can demand that the machine be taken and locked down. This will require them to check calibration to be sure it is not off. If it is off then you can demand the ticket is dropped. If it is not off you will not be able to do the other options because they will be mad that you made them test for calibration.
