  • One Word: GAS
  • greatly. my pay is the same but my partners pay is based on commission so it ends up affecting me as well. Money is tight right now...we even have to cut back on food and stuff like that.
  • Let's see...I have been out of work (permanent work) since the end of November. We're definitely having to cut back. I'm sure we'd be feeling things if I still had a regular job, but I don't know that it would be as bad.
  • In most areas no, but our gas budget is out of control. We spent more last month on gas than we did on food! That is ridiculous! And we decided to put our summer vacation on hold for now because of the gas prices. We would have to save $300-$400 more just for gas and that sucks big time!
  • We do not live in the US nor do we receive our income in US Dollars thus the Economy has not touched us much. The local currency exchange rate is now +50% over per each US Dollar, thus all prices have gone up quite a lot. As we receive our income in Euros we sort of level up. Regards.
  • People are being carful with there spending, I recently put an Ad for more Garden Accounts in the local paper and got Six gardens to look at. Two I got to do ONCE because they were looking for Ultra-Cheap (yeh-$10 less) and the others gave me the run-Around not returning messages. Now I am short of $$$ and have to run the Ad again next month. Meanwhile GAS is $3.99 where I live!
  • Gas prices. Less driving, better errand planning.
  • Just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside thinking of how Exxon CEO's can retire on a mire $400,000,000.00 salary.
  • I have dug out the old recipes I used in the days while I was a very poor student, and I have had to ask my son to cut back on using the gas card I gave him.
  • Gas prices and food prices are soaring..they have an immediate effect on Jim and me! :( We're retired so we don't have to worry about losing our jobs. We rent, so we don't have to worry about losing our home. The rising cost of healthcare concerns us greatly..when will it be so expensive that we are no longer able to afford it? :(
  • My husband and I both were laid off from our jobs within 6 months of each other, we both lost our 401(k) plans, both retirement plans and our general financial security. He was a sales exec and I worked in mortgage. Now he does odd jobs and I do temp work. On the upside... We still have our home and our cars at the present time and still making bills, but the reality is we arent far from losing it all. Its been a crappy year to say the least. But we both go on lots of interviews so Im hopeful!
  • I do not know who has NOT been affected...
