  • In today's culture, "sexual perversion" is the name of tolerance and diversity. The truth is, God hates such immoral acts and judges them severely. They can be Christian if they repent of their sins, just like all sinners. Homosexuals do not need encouragement to continue in their destructive, sinful behavior. 1 Corinthians 6:9 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,"

Those verses show that there are those that ignore Bible teachings so as to persist in loose or brazen conduct. Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God's Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10?thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God?s Kingdom. Their own blood is upon them.

I don't know what Bible you are using but it is not the King James Version. The church likes to twist words and verses to say what they want their people to believe. Should you take the time to do additional study you will learn the passages you have quoted deal with pagan worship and the acts performed including men dressed as women who perform various sexual acts. You quoted Genesis 2:23,24, as the Lord God caused Adam to sleep taking his rib from his left side and formed Eve. Adam said this is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, I shall call her "woman" (H802). 24, Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his "wife" (H802) and they shall be one flesh. This is not correct translation. Because of HERMENEUTICS in the Bible the word "wife" should be "woman" because it was used in the previous verse. More correctly this verse should read, " For this reason a man should leave his father and mother and cleave to a woman, could be a wife or may be a wife, and the two shall become one flesh." I could give you much more teaching but there is not enough room here to do so. I have taken many years, over 25 years. I have studied from many sources the sexuality in the Bible including homosexuality and heterosexuality. Churches do not want their congregations to know the truth so they take a verse and search backward until they find something they can convince their people even if it is incorrect. I could lead you to many places to learn the truths of the Bible but you most likely would not take the time to do some research and learn some truths of what the Bible says.

Thinker, your comments are irrelevant. You have not added any scriptures that support why homosexuals are worthy or not to be called Christians. How is 1 Corinthians 6:9 twisted? Homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God or homosexuals need encouragement to practice their immoral ways?
    • Jenny Rizzo
Thinker, quote: " I have taken many years, over 25 years. I have studied from many sources the sexuality in the Bible including homosexuality and heterosexuality." You have it all twisted. God created humans to engage in sex only within the arrangement of marriage between a male and a female. (Genesis 1:27, 28; Leviticus 18:22; Proverbs 5:18, 19) The Bible condemns sexual activity that is not between a husband and wife, whether it is homosexual or heterosexual conduct.

I am going to make one attachment but I could give many. I Cor 6:9 and Tim 1:9-10 Greek Study: Historical Background Paul's 1st letter to the Corinthians has been totally falsely twisted from the Greek to English. It says nothing at all about homosexuality only ancient idolatry. The temple of Aphrodite Pandemos, goddess of sexual fertility, dominated Acrocorinthus and employed 1000 prostitutes who served in sexual rites virtually around the clock. The greek words pornoi, arsenokitai and malikos, were no doubt promiscuously available throughout the city, a city famous for her libertine rites in the worship of idols. Acrocorinthus was the dominant geographic feature enshrouding the Corinthian skyline and rose to a great height of 1750 ft. above the city. Corinth, herself, was a metaphor of fertility and libertine sexuality among the ancient cities of Mediterranean. Koine Greek has no word for homosexuals. Some English translations based on an agenda, not biblical truth have terribly mistranslated two Greek words to mean homosexual, but with no factural foundation to do so. Some concordances falsely claim: "arsennokoites" = a male homosexual, pederast, or sodomite and "malakos" = soft effeminate, esp. of catamites, men and boys who allow themselves to be used for homosexuality. It is the mistaken contention of some that Paul spoke of homosexuals in two other letters. The error comes from cultural bias which has crept into the translation of his letters; specifically regarding two words (*malakoi* and *arsenokoitai*). To the church in Corinth and subsequently in a letter to Timothy Paul wrote: "... Neither the sexually immoral (referring here to the pagan temple prostitutes) nor idolaters nor adulterers (but understood from the 10 Commandments to only he wrong for a married women, but never a married man as long as the women was single - not the property of another man) nor MALE PROSTITUTES (*malakoi*) nor HOMOSEXUAL OFFENDERS (*arsenokoitai*) nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." I Cor. 6:9-10 (NIV) "We also know that the law is made not for good men but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and PERVERTS (*arsenokoitais*), for slave traders and liars and perjurers." I Tim. 1:9-10 (NIV) What the NIV refers to in 1 Cor. 9 supposedly as "homosexual offenders" and later in 1 Tim. 1:10 as "perverts" is related in Paul's original letters with the single Greek word *arsenokoitai(s)* The translators for King James render the word as "abusers of themselves with mankind." Other modern translations construe the term as "child molesters" or even "sodomites" (ironic since we know that the Sodomites were not condemned for homosexuality). The claim this word means homosexual, defies linguistic evidence and common sense. "Koites" generally denotes licentious sexual activities, and corresponds to the active person in intercourse. The prefix "Arsen", simply means "male". It could mean a male that has sex with lots of women. Paul made up a new word. A biblical scholar when a word is unknown, looks for similar greek words to find a possible meaning. Boswell concludes Paul writing in Koine Greek, took a word from Attic Greek combined with a word from Old Testament Greek to mean the active male prostitute. These were common in the Hellenistic world in the time of Paul. They served as prostitutes for both men and women. BINGO! Remember "porneia" in the same verse that has been mistranslated fornication but was really female temple prostitutes? Guess what? Paul also is condemning the male prostitutes that also were in the temples of the sex gods! Hans-Michael (hans@teleport.com) did an excellent job of summarizing, on the Internet, the serious biblical research on this passage by saying: "The various translations of the idiom *arsenokoitai* as
    • Thinker
"The various translations of the idiom *arsenokoitai* as used by Paul give evidence as to its ambiguity. Arndt and Gingrich begin their citation of the term with the reference "a male homosexual." It might be helpful to have a lexicon to explain what they understood a homosexual to be. If the rest of their entry on *arsenokoites* is any evidence of this, then one may infer a certain amount of cultural bias on the part of these lexicographers. The citation goes on to list "pederast" (man who molests boys) and "sodomite" (meaning vague). Child molesters are a subset of both homosexuals as well as heterosexuals. A pederast is not however synonymous with a male homosexual." "The term *arsenokoitai* is only used twice in the original texts of the Bible; in the two passages by Paul just cited. Usages of the word by contemporaries of Paul (secular or otherwise) seem to be almost nonexistent. (Father D. Helminiak, Ph.D., a Catholic theologian writes in his book "What the Bible *really* Says About Homosexuality": "1 Corinthians is our earliest record of the word." Yale Professor Dr. J. Boswell writes in his award winning "Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality": "Paul appears to have been the first author to use the word, and it appeared very infrequently after him.") Should Paul have intended to condemn child molesters with this word (as Arndt and Gingrich suggest and some translations reflect), a generalization of the passage to condemn all homosexuals would be disingenuous. "Where a modern translation reports Paul's contention in I Corinthians that "male prostitutes" shall not inherit the kingdom of God, the KJV speaks of "the effeminate." This poor rendering of the Greek word *malakoi* has been used to condemn gays for the past three centuries. The mistranslation owes in part to the already prevalent prejudice against gays present during preparation of this version of the Bible. It also illustrates a common misconception which is held by many people even today, namely the stereotype that all gay men are "effeminate" or feminine in their actions or appearance. Yet Paul was a Greek speaking Jew and a Roman citizen. In the culture in which he wrote the word malakoi, those who engaged in homosexual acts were not considered to be of questionable manhood. The Thebans even formed a legion of warriors composed entirely of gay couples. The group possessed an incredible esprit de corps and could boast of many victories. "*Malakoi* suffers from the same lexical complexity. The word *malakos* means literally "soft." There is no indication that it was used in the time of Paul as a derogatory remark leveled exclusively against gays. On the contrary, Hellenistic literature is replete with examples of heterosexuals being characterized as *malakos*. The label seemed to indicate some sort of general moral weakness or excess. The early church fathers invoked the word *malakos* against masturbation. Moreover they never used the word to imply being "effeminate" but rather list other terms for this purpose including *thelubrios* and *androgunos* whence the term "androgyny." "Did Paul intend to condemn homosexuals? It would appear that his writings leave us with no compelling evidence to decide in the affirmative. Regardless, Paul was a poor authority when it came to matters of sex. He remained single all his life and wished that all men were as he. He saw marriage as a last resort for those who couldn't control their sexual desires. Said Paul, "it is better to marry than to burn" (I Cor. 7:8-9). He thought marriage was good for younger widows to keep them from growing idle and becoming "gossips and busybodies" (I Tim.5:13). Although Paul was a devout follower of Christ who communed intimately with the Lord, it is fair to say that he didn't fully appreciate the love which God created to be shared between two people." It is a serious thing to take human bias and misrepresentations and then sanctify them by wrapping them in the robes of God's authority. That is clearly Scriptural abuse and God DOES warn strongly those that try and add to His Word. The real abomination is the false biblical teachings that hurt so many whose only "sin" is to be just as God created them to be. It is man that his twisted the biblical meanings for which he needs to repent and spread the truth that their is no sin in the natural sexual orientation of homosexuality any more than it is a sin to be a heterosexual.

Thinker, quote: "It might be helpful to have a lexicon to explain what they understood a homosexual to be." According to the Lexicon, the word "homosexuals" is arsenokoites. It means a sodomite. The rendering of the word is based on homosexuality. It is also rendered in the book of Timothy. 1 Timothy 1:9-10 "understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,"
    • Jenny Rizzo
Thinker, the Lexicon always helps to understand the proper significance of homosexuals. Leviticus contains two well known statements about homosexual activity: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22) If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

Thinker, quote: "It is a serious thing to take human bias and misrepresentations and then sanctify them by wrapping them in the robes of God's authority." It is not biased in the general view how a homosexual is attracted to people of one's own sex.

Thinker, quote: "The real abomination is the false biblical teachings that hurt so many whose only "sin" is to be just as God created them to be." The real abomination traces back to the Sodom and Gomorrah. It is clearly seen how the sodomites rejected Lot's daughters in Genesis Chapter 19 , choosing God's angels to have sex with.
    • Jenny Rizzo
Thinker, all of the people from the city gathered around the house and demanded that Lot send the strangers out to the mob so that they might have sex with the angels. Sensing evil intent by the citizens of Sodom, Lot refused. He implied that what the mob intended to do was "wicked." Again, a homosexual in the Bible is described as evil or morally wrong.

  • By definition a Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus said to his followers in John 15:14 “ You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you.” Jesus commanded us to love God with our whole heart, soul and mind. (Mat. 22:39). To love God means to observe his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome according to 1 John 5:19. God commands us to abstain from sexual immorality. (Acts 15:29) So to answer your question, NO, a person who practices sexual immorality does not meet the requirements of a Christian servant of God.
  • Depends on your definition of gay. And Christian should be capitalized.
  • The Lord God said to love all others as yourself, Also to love others a I (Jesus) have loved you. Never did He make an acceptation as to sexual orientation. As for an LGBT being a Christian if they believe in the Lord Jesus and have Him as their Saviour they are Christian. In the entire Bible (KJV) homosexuality is spoken of only 5 times and each of those times was in relationship to sexual practices done in pagan worship. Additional studies also include pederasty. Homosexuality was not considered a sin until around 200 years ago as long as it was not used in pagan worship. True study of the Bible will reveal the truth of what the Bible says and not what society and the church want it to say.
    • Jenny Rizzo
Quote: "Never did He make an acceptation as to sexual orientation." Actually, homosexual and heterosexual conduct between 2 males include intercourse, fondling another person's genitals, and engaging in oral or anal sex. While Jesus disapproves homosexual marriage, His words are clear: Matthew 19:4-6 "He answered, Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh' 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

Homosexuality in no more a sexual perversion than blindness is a physical perversion. Having a few good homosexual friends would show you that in a heartbeat. The only problem in doing that is that it may prevent you from feeling superior to another group which is unacceptable.
    • Jenny Rizzo
OC Joe, quote: "Homosexuality in no more a sexual perversion than blindness is a physical perversion." Homosexuality is the expression of freedom of speech that includes the right to express one's sexual orientation and gender identity without hindrance, as well as the freedom to seek, receive and impart information on issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity. In the Old Testament, the Israelites had laws when a man lied with another man. (Leviticus 20:13) Throughout the New Testament, the Bible is clear, homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God by the statement Paul made in 1 Corinthians 6:9. As for feeling superior to another group, nowhere in my posts have I said a certain group is superior to another.
  • Jesus never taught on the topic.
    • Jenny Rizzo
I may suggest you brush-up the Bible. Homosexuality is defined by immorality. Mark 7:20-23 And He said, "What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

Guess what! Sin is sin, you're a sinner, you've committed them all, will again, and you'll go crawling back to Christ on your knees because you haven't accepted salvation, His free gift. You are saved by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ, and not of works lest any man should boast. Yep, we're all sinners, and to presume to look down your judgmental nose upon me (a bi-sexual man having a relationship with Jesus Christ), well, that just reminds me of the puffed up pharisees Jesus was talking to in the 7th chapter of Mark.

Romans 3:23 says that everyone has sinned and fall short of God's standard. By sinning, it doesn't mean a believer should be the example of the true proverb: 2 Peter 2:22 "They prove the truth of this proverb: "A dog returns to its vomit." And another says, "A washed pig returns to the mud."
    • Wakko
Just great, now I'm a dog and a pig.
    • Jenny Rizzo
You can do better if you wanted to.
  • To answer this question once more: I suggest you learn it from Scripture. Jesus stated in Matthew 19:4-6 that any deviation of gay marriage does not measure up to the perfect standard of God.
  • All religions are based on faith. If you have the faith, what does it matter what any person or organization says.
  • Depends on what Christian you ask. Christians seem to believe there is ONE set of rules that ALL Christians must abide by. Most Christians, however, have a few of those rules that they cheat on. The think THEIR discreations are minor and their status as a Christian is unaffected. Those same Christians, however will deny that other people are "real Christians" because they have slightly different discretions. Being gay is just one of those discreations. Each individual "Christian" thinks they get to establish the "real rules" that ALL Christian must follow to be real Christians.
  • A person who practices homosexuality rejects God's Creation of Adam and Eve in order to support the whole Adam and Steve idea. In Matthew 7:13-14, the narrow gate is the difficult path. While the broad way are the desires of the flesh that lead to destruction.
    • Thinker
Jenny, as much as I respect you as a person it is so sad you are another of those who only accepts what the church teaches. This is why Millions now reject the love of Jesus Christ because they only hear the horrible church lies geared at obtaining indulgent money from its people. I know no amount of information I give here you will not understand what I am saying. Out of curiosity what church do you belong to?
    • Jenny Rizzo
I have posted in many of my religious answers that I am an SDA member. The Seventh-Day Adventists do not reject homosexuals like mainline churches who protest against them. We are nobody to condemn others. Lying, cheating and stealing is no better than homosexuals sowing to the flesh. Just like all sinners, we believe God can make a difference in people's lives.
  • If a gay gets to be Baptized in Jesus blood they are a Christian but if they don't change their ways so the world can see the change. They are in eternal danger.
