  • That's a great question to ask your doctor. I wouldn't trust any of us to help you out with this question. Neck fractures are way too serious.
  • I had a fracture of C1 as well, and 2 fractures on C2. Do you have additional fractres ? I'm sure it is not your broken C1 cracking, thats why you are in traction. Chances are good that it is the bones that are not confined by traction that could be cracking. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding my experiences. Bless You and do your best to be sooo grateful for recieving the mirical of life, and keeping it. You are here for a reason, make no doubts about it. Congratulations
  • i imagine the cracking is just realigning.. my buddy did a back flip on a bike and landed on his head/neck... it was horrible..good luck
  • I also fractured my C1 7/15/09 and in my case I found that the creeking sounds were comeing from the halo and not bones The noises do scare you, but I was told by my doctor that it was when the halo was being torqed/stressed. When sleeping on it for example. You and I are very fortunite that we are not paralized. Do what the doctors say and in a few months you will get the halo off and the bone fragments will mend back together. Say lots of prayers and thank God that you are alive. I wore a halo for four months and now have 75% range of movement with some stiffness.
