  • He must have had a positive influence. After all he is a wizard.
  • I think....rather, the other way around.
  • Of course. The degree of influence is another question.
  • As the word "Wicca" is never once mentioned in the books, nor any type of ritual that is so important to the religion. There is also nothing mentioned about some of Wicca principal teachings in the books. Even when there was death in the books, there was no talk of the many diffrent afterlives that Wiccan's believe. (Most adheare to only one afterlife, but depending on your tradition, there are differances here.) I'd have to say no. If anything, the parents protesting the books, saying that is was in anyway related to Wicca, my have influanced growth.
  • No. The major growth of Wicca occurred before the first HP book appeared. And they are related in that both are descendants of an Anglophone tradition hundreds of years deep. They are distant cousins, with a common ancestor decades ago, not parent/child. They are related like the UK (2008) is related to the US (2008): three hundred years ago, they had a lot in common/
  • Wicca was around before harry potter was. so no
  • harry potter influeced the growth of something, i wouldnt call it wicca. it is more like psuedo wicca. or nouveau wicca. or wicca for children.
  • I don't see how considering that Harry Potter has absolutely nothing to do with Wicca. I can't imagine anyone drawing such allusions unless they had never read one of the books. There is nothing in those books that even touches on any religion, let alone Wicca.
  • Harry Potter is not even remotely related to wicca. There is no statistical correlation between the popularity of either.
  • lol yes! you nailed it...
  • No. The kind of magic represented in the Harry potter movies and books is one of instant gratification. This type of magic has always been popular, but of course it's all fiction. Wicca requires a lot of study and practise and the effects are subtile. Not the kind of thing thats attractive to someone who wants to wave a wand.
