We pay for our garbage pickup. There is no requirement for them to come out this far into the country so a few of us have arranged for the truck to come way out here. We pay $28 a month and manage to share that with family next door.

We pay like $4/month. and $4/month for recycling, too, whether you do it or not. The charges show in the water bill.

We can either deliver our trash and recyclables to one of the county collection points or can subscribe to private pickup. There is a modest fee for trash at the county site, but no charge for recyclables. Also, the county has the right to ask you to open any bag(s) of trash to verify that you have been recycling. The private trash pickup is exempt. I use the county site because I'm cheap and I recycle everything I can.
