  • Yes, yes you are. There are those that can either not afford to see a doctor, those that ARE in fact going to a doctor but would like the opinion of the community, or those that wish to know if going to a doctor is needed at all. Am I the only one who sees questions about other questions and just thinks "how is this helpful to the community at all?".
  • NO, and the reason I say this is, I was sick for four years, with an illness, that I have no idea what caused it, and me asking a lot of questions, has helped me to figure out partly, what is wrong, yes I had doctors, but they dont know everything, they said I was a mystery, they could see all of the symptoms, they couldnt figure out what was causing it. Me getting online and asking, I found a few other people with the same type of illness, and I went back to my doctor with the information, and it helped.
  • If you have the time to wait for answers no, butif youre eyeball is hanging out and your foot is backwards, i think its time to go to the doctor. preferably the emergency room.
  • For some things that sound like an emergency, yes. But for most things, no, as i see them as more fact finding missions. Doctors are expensive, even if you are lucky enough to have insurance. And even if you make an appointment it can be days before you get in even if you are suffering now and you just want some relief. Many problems can be eased or made better with home remedies, so why not try that approach first? I don't like doctors and they are usually my very last resort, so I appreciate alternate ways for maintaining health. And as far as animals go, so many things people ask about are not emergencies. Just yesterday someone was asking about the orange or red color of their rabbit's urine, all worried. Some people who didn't know had them rushing to the vet's office. Well, it's just normal for rabbit urine to be that color sometimes. Many vets don't even know much about rabbits. Or if someone has 12 cats and they can't take them all to the vets to be wormed for tapeworms, it isn't an emergency and they can try ground up pumpkin seeds which works amazingly well. So why not try it. But if someone has a cat that hasn't eaten in 48 hours, THAT is an emergency. So I guess I take it by a question by question basis.
  • We are a community. Ask away. I love the resources here. My rule of thumb is if it hurts really bad for more than 20 minutes or needs stitches. See the Doc.
