  • Not yet. Your baby needs to be one and 20 pounds.. at least. I would wait until two. Rear facing is the safest position and the safest is always the best. Besides which is worse a broken neck or a broken leg?
  • The doctors usually say about a year faceing backwards... I guess after that it all depends...
  • Doctors and the law says 1year and 20lbs. I will let you in on a little secret though I turned both of my kids around at 10 months. Yes it's horrible I know and oh my goodness, but they were and are fine. My daughter used to scream bloody murder because she wanted to see what was going on. Yes it's not a good idea, but it never hurt my kids and heck when we were little we didn't even have car seats. I used to sleep on the floor or in the back window, I am still here. I take everything with a grain of salt. If I want or need to tweek it for it to work for my family than I do. They are happy and healthy and no matter what anyone says they are wonderful and safe. Good luck!:)
  • What is the weight limit on turning the baby toward the front?
  • One year and twenty pounds - needs to be both, not one or the other. Lately it's being recommended to keep babies rear-facing as long as they fit in the car seat because it's safer for them.
  • we waited untill 15 months, and then because her legs were getting too long and we were worried about her comfort. If she wasn't so tall, she would still be facing backwards.
  • On the side of the car seat it should say one year and/or 20 lbs. The docs and the law says so too. I put my daughter in a face forward seat when she hit 10 months. She was 22 pounds. And was way to tall. Her knees were touching her belly. I have a tall little girl. My pediatrician told me that was fine because of her height and weight. Just ask the doc. And get a car seat thats not going to be too big for your child. I wouldn't go with one that has the bar across the lap. If your baby starts growing and gets chubby legs, those things are bad news. Good luck:)
  • the longer they face back the better, because if you crash, there little necks cant stand the force, as horrible as that sounds! depending on the make of the babys seat its about 23lbs, my son is 14 months and we turned his round about a month ago. hope that helps, but like i said the longer they face back the safer it is. xx
