  • Society was extremely violent and unruly, way before media and porn.
  • Auntie Em's answer is good. However, I think that there is more to it than just that. Pornography justifies deviant behavior. All of those other people who share your strange desires means that maybe you are not so strange after all. Maybe your enjoyment of rape or incest or young children is OK after all. Maybe there is nothing wrong with having multiple partners. (How often do they discuss the danger of STDs or the fact that they tend to be rampant among porn stars?) In short, pornography promotes irresponsible to dangerous to even evil behavior. The more such behavior is promoted, the more common it will become. In this respect, it is not just the overtly pornographic materials that are guilty of promoting this type of behavior. How often do they show the negative effect of sexual license in movies or on television as opposed the gratification that comes from it? These much more "acceptable" forms of entertainment, in turn, promote changes in attitude that blunt the conscience somewhat. This makes people more receptive to even more explicit materials. This then makes people more accepting of even more outrageous behaviors. It is a slow progression of acceptance. It is not something that occurs over night or in a single generation. It is something that occurs over multiple generations. You can watch the progression of acceptance by watching the evolution of what people have chosen for entertainment. You can watch how the language and behavior of the characters have coarsened over the decades. You can also see it in how behaviors that were once considered to be taboo and/or scandalous are now commonplace. Pornography contributes to this coarsening of society and the promotion of deviant behavior.
  • Porn in reasonable doses probably doesn't contribute to criminal sexual activity, unless it already illegal in the first place ie: child porn. That does, I think, lead to some pretty brutal shit. But legalized porn can be healthy in the right atmosphere ie: partners
  • Yes definately. Many of the worse serial killers in America were deeply involved in porn. Ted Bundy, James Gacy, David Berkowitz. Remember their acts were sexually violent. Obviously millions view it with no such result, but criminologists find it signifgent that these killers all had that in common. Pornography has often been linked to a wide range of harmful outcomes and attitudes. Some suggest a connection between pornography and rape as well as other forms of violence against women and children. Infamous serial killer Ted Bundy admits that he had a “strong appetite for violent pornography.” He says: “This condition is not immediately seen by the individual or identified as a serious problem. . . . But this interest . . . becomes geared towards matters of a sexual nature that involve violence. I cannot emphasize enough the gradual development of this. It is not short-term.” Those are Ted Bundy's words.
  • yes a lot of it degrades women and causes people to mix fiction with reality similar to music video girls, I think alot of it takes away from the intimacy of sex and old fashion morals of sex being between two people who love and care for each other (husband and wife)
  • Normal porn purchased from an Adult store or video store does not attribute any problems to society. That's the same bullshit they are putting off on video games and porn. yes many serial killers where into porn but they also had very traumatic childhoods. I love porn and violent video games yet I'm a normal person who live normal life. If anyone is to blame for criminals it's parents fault for mistreating their children or not caring enough. Almost every child molester, rapist, murder had some very traumatic event in their youth that was the same or closely related to what happened to them. Porn helps if anything you damn conservitives.
