It depends where you live. If prostitution is legal where you are, you may as well do that because as Joe said at least you will get paid. If it is not legal where you live, you will not only be putting yourself at risk to STIs and unwanted pregnancies, but you'll also be breaking the law, so in that instance it would be better to be a slut. I've got to say though, that's an odd question!

Words like these are figments of our judgemental, name-calling minds. It is better to be who you want to be, then to live the way others think you should live. Unless you can think of a positive way to say something, don't say it. Bowlinggreen -- why put a label on it? why judge one as somehow better than another??? Call them women, in most cases, I think that's what they would call themselves. I don't think name calling is defensible under any circumstances. My answer stands: it is better to be honest to youself, and not care what anybody calls you. The world would be a much kinder place if we stopped calling eachother names. Also, porn is a global phenomenon -- there's nothing especially "American" about it. Kiran K -- good point -- there are positive uses for these words -- in good fun, all is good.

A whore is a job title. A slut is a name based on other people's judgements that you have a choice whether to accept or not. Better to live life by your own internal standards, and not worry about labels.

must be a UK thing... in the US it's the same ** actually you're wrong those are slang names referring to the same thing. the slang whore (what u are saying someone gets paid for) is also slang. the correct word is prostitute. LOL

Well, neither titles carry much dignity. I'd advise against gaining the qualities of either title. If I HAD to choose one, a slut would generally prove much less self-destructive than a prostitute.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. It maybe slightly better to be a slut. A slut do have SOME standards be then ever so low. The slut dresses sexier and better. The slut at least has to have a hook, the whore just waiting orifices. Where the slut may choose a married man or some other less than desirable man she will not have sex with any man that shows. The whore will have sex with ANYBODY, they just have to be breathing and she won't dress up or try to look good because she don't have to. Everyone knows you show up, no flowers, no beer, no weed, no nothing and it is naked city time. So, slightly better being the slut over the whore.
