Question

Help answer this question below.

I am hoping to be pregnant but not sure. I want to find out as soon as I can. When would be the best time to use a home pregnancy test and what would be the kind to use that is way too expensive?

You can get a positive result with Clear Blue Easy and First Response up to five days before you expect your period... but it'll only be about 48% accurate.

Best to wait until day-of or day-after, since HPTs are quite expensive, and the accuracy OF A POSITIVE will be closer to 98%. I recommend buying whichever test gives you two or three in a pack. One of the brands is ALWAYS running a special like that. That way, they're more like $5 a piece, and you can retest after three days to be sure it's accurate.

Some tests you can do the day you miss your period. The average price for a test is $20. You should just go to the drugstore and read the back of the different tests to see which one is best for you.
