I know it's 16 in Ontario...and I think it's the same across the country. Different provinces may have different laws though.

Wrong, it is 18 only in 12 states. In other 7 states it is 17 and the rest of the 31 states it is 16. Now that I corrected your misknowledge of the age of consent in USA, I can inform you about Canada. In Canada the age of consent is; 12 if the parter is no more than 2 years older, 14 if the partner is no more than 5 years older, 18 if the partner is a teacher or a caretaker, 16 otherwise.
