I just have to write that I have some problems Godwin's rule. In general, I think that there is a point Godwin's law. Most of the time, when Hitler or Nazi is thrown around, the people doing it are not making valid comparisons and are just name calling. However, there are times when such comparisons are valid. Therefore, an absolute application of Godwin's law would prevent us from learning from the mistakes made in dealing with Hitler and his Nazis and opens society up to repeating those mistakes when dealing with people who have similar personality and philosophical flaw to Hitler and his followers. So, one should be careful when throwing around Godwin's law just as one should be careful about throwing around the labels of Hitler and Nazi. ************* "yohoho05: I appreciate your view, I was really just looking for the name." I know you were, but this is a point that I just had to make because Godwin's law has the potential to be abused just as the terms Nazi and Hitler do. I had one person try to use it against me rather than deal with the substance of my arguments. So, I am a bit sensitive to it.

Generally, it is what modern day liberalism has disintigrated into. However, in certain comparisons, such as with the current puppet President of Iran, it can be amazingly accurate.
