  • Not an actual war, but a political war. It would be the rights trying to censor everything that doesn't involve religion, and then try to spread religion all over the country. Then the lefts would tell the rights to screw off.
  • If things keep being as partisan as they are, and if some really partisan law is passed that's very divisive, I wouldn't be surprised if certain states tried to secede. I don't think they'd get very far, and I don't think that all-out war would erupt, but it would be ugly.
  • I sure hope so. The only problem is the real Right have this thing about the rule of law, and thus won't revolt and string-up their Lefty masters like they should.
  • Absolutely not. Think about it.
  • No, I don't think so. Yes, people get rigid, angry, extremist, and rude. Yes, each side fails to listen to the other, and each side gets too wedded to it's fixed interpretation. But as long as bellies are full on all sides, I don't see that turning into armed conflict. Those with clear heads may not be able to bring the conversation back to rationality, but they do act as enough of a moderating voice to prevent mass violence.
  • I think that there is a reason why the draft has not been implemented. There is also a reason why so many of the troops already out there are getting stop-lossed before coming home. If there was a draft there would be some serious rioting...and much civil unrest would follow. Would it lead to a full-blown civil war? God, I hope not.
  • Sure, it's POSSIBLE, but the comittment to the Constitution by leaders on both sides outweigh other considerations ... I hope!
  • Very unlikely, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility. The right feel they are under siege from left-leaning media, liberal-oriented public education, and illegal immigrants. The left feel that their lives are being controlled by socially unconscious big business and the war machine. Both sides have a point.
