Hi, I have a new car and I when I get out of the car, there's like a faint burning plastic smell. Does anyone know what this could be?

There is a coating on the exhaust system that will smell for awhile, i wouldn't worry too much.

You may want to check around the exhaust system. It could be just due to it being a new car. The paint on the motor or the under coating under the car near the exhaust could be causing that smell. If in deed it is. There should be no problem with it & soon it will leave. But if it remains you may want to take it back to the place you bought it at. And have them check it out for you. For it could be something like a wire touching your exhaust & causing this smell............Good Luck..........M.C.S.
