  • Its really not better. take time, sit down and read the ingredients in diet soft drinks. nothing but chemicals. A vanderbilt doctor once told me that each time you drink a diet soft drink, its like holding your heart in your hand. i don't know if i agree with his statement or not. Regular soft drinks, for the most part, contain mostly sugar and caffeine. Comparing the two is like putting a dollar in a slot machine and pulling the crank. its a gamble. Its either drinking unhealthy diet soft drinks and lose weight or drinking regular soft drinks and gaining weight. I mix both diet and regular coke together. at least my odds are now 50/50.
  • If you asked which is better diet pop or water it would be no contest. But while I agree with John about any soda being unhealthy regular is definitely worse than diet. 1 can of regular coke is 140 calories and 39 grams of sugar. That's the equivalent of eating 14 tsp. of sugar. 1 can of regular pepsi is 150 calories and 40.5 grams of sugar. The equivalent of eating 18 tsp. of sugar. 1 Can of Mountain Dew is 165 calories and 46.5 grams of sugar. The equivalent of eating 20 tsp. of sugar. All facts were found on www.calorieking.com just type in any food and it will give you the nutritional info. Make sure to pay attention to the serving size just under the words Nutrition Facts.
  • First answer is relatively the best, however it may be interesting to know that there are professionals opinions (i say opinions because i don't have any hard evidence) that the chemicals in diet pop actually restrain you from losing weight, amongst other negative effects. Hence why no advertisement (or so i think, this is from what i noticed) for diet soft drink say you can lose weight, they dance around it wording it very close, but not enough for the government agencies to say anything. Either way you look at it they are both bad for you, but if your a regularly active person i don't think you have too much to worry about regular pop, just watch how much your drinking.
  • The only aspect which can be deemed "healthier" would be the lower calories (less sugar). It depends on the person and their health needs. Some people can not tolerate the calories or refined sugar. Others, like me, have sensitivities to artificial sweeteners like sucralose (Splenda) and to some preservatives and stabilizers used in Diet sodas. Soda pop, in general, is not "healthy" at all. But I do love a good can of Coca-Cola first thing in the morning...
  • Less calories, proabably more things like Sodium. You decide which is worse for you I guess. If you are fat, drink diet, if you have high blood pressure, drink water.
  • Neither is good for you, Fruit juice is very good for your health cause you are then at least getting a serving of fruit. The best for your health is good old water.
  • Actually any carbonated drink isn't very good for you (All that fizz in your stomach reacting with your stomach acids and digestive juices is not good) and most artificial sweeteners keep you hungry and are not satisfying. SO if you must drink a soda, drink a real one, preferably one sweetened with real cane sugar. There are still some out there and the flavor is so different. And stay away from High fructose sugar. It is a genetically modified sugar that makes you hungrier than you were before you ate whatever it is.
  • It is actually much worse for your health and the sugar substitute is cancerous. So the excessive sugar in the regular pop is better of the two.
  • well i sometimes drink juice instead of pop, but i get thirsty for pop. I drink crystel light. it is so good.
