  • I hear ya. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scandals_with_%22-gate%22_suffix
  • haha, good question....unfortunately, if you want to reference any recent scandals to create a new linguistic paradigm, all them already end in Gate, so, it's up to us to create a new one. Any ideas?
  • I find it kind of funny, actually. Ever see that Simpson's episode where they are doing Biblical stories? The first story, Homer and Marge did the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. After Eve gets tossed from the Garden for eating the apple, Adam finally comes up to her and says "Sorry about that whole Apple-gate thing." Had me rolling! Maybe we can call this phenom Gate-Gate. Maybe one day Microsoft will find itself in such a scandal, the media can go nuts with Gates-Gate.
  • I was a little girl when the Watergate scandal happened. But to get to your question. Yes, I'm tired of the whole "gate" thing too!
  • I personally don't have a problem with it..it is a short-cut code for "oh for crying out loud..here we go again! ) So I have no problem with it..it lets me know that what's about to follow will get me aggravated as he**! It's a "heads-up" warning! :(
  • I can't stand it, but you've just inspired me to ask a question!
