What is "sealing"?

    We believe that marriage and family are meant to be bound, not just for this life, but forever.

    When a Mormon couple is married in the Temple, the sealing ceremony is used.  Marriages joined in this manner are not “'til death do us part”, but are bound for all time and eternity.  This is done by the power and authority which is mentioned in Matthew 16:19 (http://scriptures.lds.org/matt/16/19) and in Matthew 18:18 (http://scriptures.lds.org/matt/18/18).  Any children born into such a marriage are automatically sealed to their parents, without need for any further ceremony.

    Where a couple is sealed who already have children, then a very similar ceremony is then performed for each such child, to seal that child to his/her parents.

    ACCORDING to Rev 7;4-8 there is a list of the sealing out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.These cannot be the tribes of natural Israel because there never was a tribe of Joseph, the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included here. and the Levites were set aside for service in connection with the temple but were not reckoned as one of the 12 tribes. numbers 1;4-16. Rom 2;28,29 reads...he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the out side upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit and not by a written code. Gal3;26-29 reads you are all in fact sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus. There is neither Jew or Greek,there is neither slave or freeman, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one person with Christ Jesus. More over if you belong to Christ, you are really Abraham's seed, heirs to reference with a promise.

    AT REV 7;1-4 THE BIBLE READS ABOUT THIS "SEALING" BEFORE JESUS COMES AGAINST SATAN'S VISIBLE ORGANIZATION, THE LAST OF THE 144,000 MEMBERS OF SPIRITUAL ISRAEL WILL RECEIVE THE FINAL SEALING. THIS MARK OR SEAL SHOWS THAT THESE MEMBERS OF THE HEAVENLY CLASS WERE TRIED AND FAITHFUL TO CHRIST. THE BIBLE STATES CLEARLY THAT THE WINDS OF DESTRUCTION UPON SATAN'S SYSTEM WILL NOT BE RELEASED BEFORE THE SEALING OF THE 144,000 IS COMPLETE.     Sealing is referred to in more than one way in the church, but 95% of the time it's referring to an eternal temple marriage, like those discussed in other questions.

    Ex: "The people at our sealing were mostly from her side of the family."
