  • I don't know why the women aren't answering this question... but here's a go... are you the bride??? Then wear what you want. If you're not, then don't wear anything that will distract attention from the bride. Either way, summer dresses are for summer climates, so I think it depends a little on the weather you are expecting for the event, and whether it's an inside or outside event. Have you seen "The Devil Wears Prada"? There's a great scene/speech in there about why a blue sweater is absolutely the wrong thing to wear to work (if you work at a fashion house)... if you expect some fashionista's at the wedding -- then I'd definitely get a 2nd and 3rd opinion about that summer dress.
  • I think it would be OK if you wore it with a nice cardigan or shawl. Also, the weather makes a difference. If it's a warm, early fall wedding, it's easier to wear that dress than if it's cold outside in the late fall.
  • When you say "summer dress" what are we talking about haulter top or speg. strap. I personaly don't think a haulter top should ever be wore to a wedding unless it is in lavgas but i think a nice cotton speg. strap with the strapless bra and maybe a something nice that matches the fabric of the dress over top would look very good. also you might be able to put a light shrit under the dress if you have nothing to wear over it. I have seen that done before.
  • I would recommend dressing accordenly with the weather as Bowlinggreen said. I am planning to get married in the fall, but early fall on a beach down the shore. I would hope that the weather will be nice enough for the guest to wear "summery" clothes.
  • it might look a little tacky. But, hey if you can pull it off go for it!
  • honestly, i wouldnt. Stick with something that is at least a fall color. Although, if its a hot place, like mexico or something, then i dont think it matters.
