  • If I remember correctly, there is an exemption for these types of organizations. However, when you tell them directly not to call again, ever!, they should be smart enough to put you on a list of their own. I have been known to write to a particularly persistent agency's director about their calling. And the calls dried up soon after. :o)
  • Yes, it's true. They cannot SELL you anything, but they can beg for money as much as they want.
  • I was a telemarketer for some time, and that is true...but....if you tell them to add your name to the DNC list, they will also. (or should, anyway.)
  • I get calls all of the time,and my friend says they can call.
  • Charities, political causes, and anyone that you have ever responded to and done business with in the past can call you if they want, legally. But you can ask businesses that you NOW don't want to call you, to stop and they must. You can't do that with charities.
