  • Four types of confession I only know and have heard of three types: 1) Self-Confession in case of an emergency and no priest is available to hear. Generally saying prayers of forgiveness is done. 2) Confessional confessions - done in church with a priest hearing confession 3) Confession at Last Rites for forgiveness of sins at time of death.
  • There are not four types of confession in the Catholic faith. There are four STEPS to making a good confession, and there are the exceptional circumstances mentioned earlier by Zenheart. four steps: examination of conscience, listing of sins to the priest, true repentance and contrition, and performing the penance given to you. Hope that clarifies it.
