Have symbols across middle of screen of Sony KDF-E50A10. Anyone know what problems is and how to fix. Thanks :)

what kind of symbols-- aztec, egyptian, closed caption??

From a distance they look like symbols but upon closer review, they are not symbols at all. They are a series of small horizontal squares, going across the middle of the screen. Each square is made up of different colored dots that are flashing. Thanks to anyone for some help. Pat

several things can do this, see if this is on all inputs & the biggie is does it show in the menu or just in the video
