  • For your purposes, I suggest any phone (cheaper the better) from Virgin Mobile, a prepaid phone company. I have used mine for five years now and the service is excellent. No monthly fees, and only actual voice call air time is charged, although time must be prepaid, but topping up is simple through credit/debit cards or universal top-up cards, even through a web site if desired. Camera phones are available, and I have experienced good connectivity throughout the US and southern Canada. Excellent coverage and strong signals in most places. Several billing and payment options are available, and no monthly contract is required, although regular top-up is necessary - they have to make a profit somehow. see http://www.virginmobileusa.com

  • MY wife and I allways buy "Nokia" Brand because of the simplicity.
