Should be a pretty good clue as to how long we're going to be there (forever) and what our motives are for invading the region (oil).

Its a sign that America plans to stay there a while. After all theres a lot of oil there and Bush wants it.

I think, unfortunately, it'll present a HUGE American target. I've heard Bill Moyers talk about it. The working conditions were said to be atrocious and there's no way they would've gotten away with the contractors disregard of workers if it was done here. (bringing in workers from three countries away w/o telling them where they were going to or for how long isn't right.) My bet is it's rigged with enough audio/visual devices by any of the powers that hate us: China, NK, Iran, maybe a little Soviet bug. In this day and age with such a large project, things are bound to slip past.
