Question

Help answer this question below.

My 1994 GMC Sierra has makes a high-pitched whistling noise. After driving for about 10 minutes, it starts the noise. If I accelerate quickly, the noise will stop until I get at a coasting speed and it starts again. It's not the belt or vac line.

It certainly sounds like a vacuum leak. One way to check is to (carefully) spray small amounts of carburetor cleaner around the mating surfaces of the intake manifold, throttle body, etc. If the engine picks up rpm while doing this, you've found your leak. Extra care should be taken not to spray electrical components while doing this. If you are unsure of your ability to do this safely, please take your vehicle to a service professional, and tell him your concerns.
