This may sound biased, but I am no longer a daily user of the site, so why not? It could benefit everyone in the long term.
-
Thats a great idea i hope they see this and take note.
-
Sure. I like AB but I am not dependant on it to make my day.
-
I'm all for that, but beyond that time and I might go postal.
-
Absolutely it would be alot easier than the site messing up when you are trying to you use it, it could make a big difference to the entire site if they took the time out to do it!
-
Is this their idea or yours? My point being, can they fix all the glitches in just one day? :o) Have they agreed to this? If the answer to these questions is yes, I am all in favor of it.
-
I doubt it'd really help. I'm not sure how it works technically, but they seem to have a different version of Answerbag they work on while everyone else uses the main site anyway. There used to be a beta team (I was on it) who tested things before they were released. For example, we tested out this modern day Answerbag using a separate URL while the rest of the Baggers used the old site. I assume the staff still do this with the other bugs and code they're working on. I think the main problems are money, time the staff can devote to the site (they have other sites to work on as I understand), and the skills the programmers have.

i wouldn't mind if it meant that i could then get aconfirmation e mail sent out.so tired of not being able to rate anything or leave comments.
-
Maybe I am too new ... (3weeks) but I have not noticed too many glitches. The times that an answer or comment has not posted may have troulbe on my end using wireless. I would not be too upset if they shut it down for a few hours to make it better!
-
If it meant fixing ALL of them, sure would. But I'm not holding me breath:-)
-
I really don't think they'd have to shut it down, they can fix the bugs somewhere else and just update this site - with a down-time probably no more than 3 hours, if they're slow.
-
Can we get a design overhaul, too? If so, yes, I would be in favor.
-
What glitchces? This thing is hummin
-
Yes!
-
as long as it's on a Saturday or Sunday when people are busy doing stuff rather than on a week day...what else am I going to do at work???
-
Surely a whole day would not be necessary, would it? I don't think so...
-
Why any interruption at all, this aint' no Buick yo...
-
Sure, that'd help me out in the long run.
-
No way! Shut down superdudes instead! Remember how well that worked last time?
-
What glitches? ;) Well, yeah, if AB has to do that, then I am for it. I am also for people saying "Thank you for fixing the problem(s)" instead of complaining about it.
-
No. Then what are we all suppose to do with out day?
-
They'll only add crap features that no-one wants. When was the last time they truly fixed something so that it stayed fixed?
-
I don't see many glitches except processing time. But, OK with me.
-
Yes, even if it took a week that would be acceptable to me.
-
YES! But I think it will take more than one day. A week? Yes, I'd do a week, too. I am finding the glitches to be more and more annoying and frustrating as time goes by and, while I know they MUST be working on things, AB is still messed up.....pretty badly, too, I think.
-
I wouldn't WANT to, but if it has to be done, I'd be willing to give them a chance.
